Welcome to our Virtual Surround Sound DVD players page, virtual surround sound is a method that some DVD players or televisions use to simulate the surround sound effect without the need for additional speakers.

They do this by mixing the surround sound channels into the standard right and left channels that are used in stereo sound systems such as your television, if the television supports virtual surround sound then the effect will be better as these televisions have special speakers that throw the sound around the room to make it seem like the sound is coming from a different direction.

There is no substitute though for a proper home cinema system as these virtual surround sound systems offer no where near the same level of audio quality and surround sound effect, home cinema systems are also quite cheap these days too so we highly recommend that you buy a home cinema system if you are wanting proper surround sound.
